I was encouraged by many to read The Shack. I bought it a few months ago from our church’s bookstore and struggled through the first two chapters and put it down.
Today, nudged by the Holy Spirit, I picked it up again. I started from about the middle of chapter 2 and would not, could not put it down, hungrily reading, many times through veils of tears until the very end. The end came around 10:30 tonight. I was able to close the book, completely satisfied.
The author painted a picture of God I dared never to look at before. I want to give my book away to others, but want a copy for myself. I want to re-read it, to not forget the awakening that stirred inside me after reading it.
I now encourage you to read it, as well. But be forewarned. You will be shown a picture of God you have never seen before.
I finally “read” it. I downloaded it in audiobook format with Itunes and listened to it whenever I had a moment of peace. I just finished it a few days ago… It was very good.
