Guitar Stand Cozy

A while ago, I had crocheted a cozy/cover for my husband’s guitar stand. It was an older stand and he just wanted something soft around it so his guitar could be protected.

He has the guitar stand on the stage at our church where he leads worship. One of the team members saw it and asked if I could make one for him. His brother makes guitars and uses a finishing on the guitars that the stuff on new guitar stands eats through or something. So he wanted something that would also protect his guitar.

I explained to him that the cover was crocheted directly onto the stand. I would need the stand in order to do the project. He went out and purchased a new stand and I used a skein of yarn that had been given to me by an online friend. I have no idea what kind of yarn it is. It appears to be wool(ish) and worsted weight. But it’s a bit silkier than wool.

So I crocheted 2 rectangles for the legs and sewed them on, leaving a hole towards the bottom where the body of the guitar rests on the stand. That is covered by a foam that we do not believe eats through the finishing. If it seems to do so, I will cover that part as well. I also crocheted a cap for the stand. I crocheted it in 3 pieces, front, back and top; sewed them together and then sewed the cap to the legs.

iPhone pouch

I got myself an iPhone on Saturday. I LOVE it. I had to crochet up a pouch to keep it safe in my purse or pockets.

I first made one up using a hdc stitch, which wasn’t bad, but I like the sc look better.

This one is made up using Bernat Cashmere which is 65% Acrylic, 30% Nylon, 5% Cashmere. The color is Rain.

I also crocheted a hairband around the top to keep it closed.

NOTHING is safe! I will embellish EVERYTHING with crochet!

Mua ha ha ha. I just had to crochet this “sweater” for Scott’s guitar stand. Actually, it’s our son Levi’s guitar stand that Scott is going to be using soon.

Ok, so I didn’t do this of my own accord. Scott came up to me and asked if I would crochet a cover for the stand. It was getting pretty worn but he didn’t see a need to purchase a new one. I was honored he asked and got to work right away. (I was reminded that I got to work on it right away because I suffer from obsessive compulsiveness LOL.) I used Caron Simply Soft Autumn Red and a size H hook. I had to crochet around the stand, which was interesting, but it worked. For the bottom part, I crocheted two tubes and then crocheted them together when they were on the stand.

iPod Sock

I made this iPod sock out of Red Heart Shocking Pink together with Lion Brand Fancy Fur Flaming Fuchsia with a K hook. The colors make for a fun iPod sock. 🙂 It fits my iPod Nano.

Blanket and Iced Tea Cozies

I am 11 balls into a 20 ball of yarn blanket using Department 71 Sophie in Beach Party. I’m working it in DCs, dc in between dcs since I cannot see the stitches. 🙂 It’s about 36″ wide and will probably be 70″ long. I love it!

My ebay auction for a lot of 12 Iced Tea Cozies sold so I need to work those up and I received another order for 6 and I have to finish the order for 40. I’ll be a busy bee tomorrow working up cozies in between homeschool. 😉 Fun, fun, fun. I’ve got to figure out how I’m going to get to JoAnne’s tomorrow for buttons. I have someplace to be from 7-9 and Scott doesn’t get home until about 6 or so. Hmmmm. We shall see.

Well, I took off the other cozies from auction. I found they were a bit loose on the glasses and had to re-make them.

I did get an order for 40 cozies from a friend who hosts dinners about once a month at their home. I have 24 done and will be working on putting buttons on those this morning.

I am expecting a shipment of yarn to come in to make a blanket for a friend who is going through chemo. *hugs* The shipment was out for delivery at 5:00 this morning so I’m hoping I’m on the morning schedule. 🙂

I’m also working up a blanket to use up some of my stash.

Glass Cozies

I made up some glass cozies with some yarn I had lying around. I’m planning on making more. I did put these up for auction on ebay, along with an auction for a lot of 12 cozies custom made. We’ll see.

These are my own pattern using worsted weight and a G hook.
