Star Blanket

I made a star blanket for an internet acquaintance that recently had a baby boy.

I had some Caron Simply Soft left over from some previous projects so I used that. It’s dark country blue, country blue, gray heather and white. I edged the blanket with white in one row of reverse sc, and I used an I hook.

The blanket measures 27″ across.

I like it. The pattern is easy. I started this blanket on May 22, in the evening and finished it this morning, May 24.

Blue Jeans Star Baby Blanket

I made this blanket for an online friend whose wife is due to have their first baby around the 21st of September. I chose to make a blanket with Bernat Softee Baby in His Jeans Ombre, a G hook and Beth’s Little Star pattern. It’s a nice little blanket, measuring about 29″ across. It’s soft and perfect, I think, for a newborn baby and I can even imagine a little boy carrying this blanket with him. 🙂 I hope it’s as loved by this baby and his parents as it has been by me as I made it.

Baby blanket update

Ok, so I was afraid I wouldn’t have enough of the Red Heart Soft Baby in New Mint Twinkle to make a good size blanket and I was really liking the way it was turning out. So, after 7 rounds of the Star Blanket pattern, I used the Lion Brand Pound of Love in white for 3 rounds. I’ll continue with the green for 4-6 rounds and continue the pattern until I run out of yarn or when the star is big enough.

I am really liking the way this is turning out.

I completed the Star Blanket. It’s 32″ across.

Unfortunately, my camera’s on the fritz. I’m going to see if I can get it working, or get a disposable camera so I can get a photo.

Phew! Camera is working. I’m SO relieved.

Green and White Star Blanket

Old Glory

I was asked to make up a red, white and blue blanket. This is what I came up with:

Old Glory

I’ve worked up rounds 1-4 in white Caron Simply Soft. Rounds 5-17 are Dark Country Blue Simply Soft. (Takes just less than one skein.)

Rounds 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 are Red Heart Light and Lofty. (Takes just a bit more than one skein.)
Rounds 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29 are white Caron Simply Soft.

It measures 40″ across made with a G hook and I used Beth’s Little Star from Heartfelt Angels pattern.

Little Star Baby Blanket

I just finished a baby blanket for a friend. She’s due the end of June, however, it’s very possible she will be giving birth any day now. This is her 6th child. 🙂 A boy they will name Will.

I used Caron Simply Soft – Country Blue, Dark Country Blue and Light Country Blue and a G hook. I used (1) 6oz skein each. It measures 38″ across. I got the pattern from HeartFelt Angels and it’s called Beth’s Little Star.

Will's Star

Star blanket

I had a request from a friend on a discussion board to make a baby blanket for his wife who is pregnant with their first son. 🙂

I purchased some Caron Simply Soft – Dark Country Blue, Country Blue and Light Country Blue and I’m using a G hook. I’m using Beth’s Little Star Afghan Pattern. Rounds 1-6 done in Country Blue. Then 3 rounds of Light Blue, 3 rounds of Dark Blue, 3 rounds of Country Blue, etc., until it’s big enough or I run out of yarn. I have (2) 6oz skeins of each. We’ll see. 🙂

Back to working on 3 projects at a time.
